I got rid of my TV 25 years ago, after I moved and it was 6 months before I realized I'd never even plugged it in at my new apartment. I've NEVER regretted that, and never missed it... of course that was before so many other distractions became so easily accessible... but the lesson was helpful in dealing with all the 'noise' options we have today...
Love it. I am 25, and I kinda wish I had been this age during the 2000s before iPhones. Of course, I could get rid of my smart phone now, but I use instagram and other apps for marketing that I cannot yet hire out for.
Once I reach that point though, I really do intend to get a text-capable flip phone. I may use an ipod touch to download podcasts before drives and such, but otherwise I am ready to unplug.
